Mantunao Ecopark in Davao Oriental opens

DAVAO CITY —– The province of Davao Oriental is again opening an eco-tourism destination, it is called the Mantunao Ecopark.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources XI (DENR-XI) announced Mantunao Eco Park in Brgy. Taytayan, Cateel, Davao Oriental, opened on October 27, 2021 which was witnessed by the stakeholders,

According to DENR-XI, Mantunao Eco Park is favored with an aesthetically appealing Tres Marias Falls and Caves with wide variety of wildlife species.

It is a natural ecotourism site, a Community-Based Forest Management (CBFM) tenured area managed by the People’s Organization of Community Forest Program-Taytayan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CFP-TMPC).

Jupiter Gayanilo, the coop manager said “Brgy. Taytayan has a lot to offer and has a lot of potential sites, aside from tourism it is reportedly an agriculturally copious village, we are also one of the rice processing center of the province. “

Municipal ENR Officer Lesa Vitor, believes Taytayan’s adjacent barangays are also teeming with potential spots.

Pablo Ofrecia, the newly-installed provincial environment officer of Davao Oriental together with Punong Barangay Julie O. Castillones, cut ribbon to kick-start the momentous celebration.
