DAVAO CITY— TO give meaning to the upliftment of the lives and development of the people at Bangsamoro Autonomous Regional Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the Bangsamoro Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) is urging the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) to work in solidarity with the peoples organization and pass relevant laws and programs .

This was the message of the CSO during the peace rally held on September 21 which was led by Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society (CBCS).

Guiamel Alim, the chairperson of CBC’s appealed to the BTA to “work towards building social cohesion, inter-tribal unity, promote justice, tolerance and understanding towards healing, reconciliation, and national unity.”

He also appealed to the national government to continue supporting the peace process in the region.

“We appeal to the national government to sustain the gains of the peace process by faithfully abiding with the terms of the peace agreement even as we implore the sincerity of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) to make their share,” Alim said.

Simultaneously, peace rallies were also conducted in other various areas outside BARMM such as Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao region, Sultan Kudarat Province, General Santos City, and Pagadian City in observance of the World Peace Day.

The International Day of Peace (Peace Day) is observed around the world annually every 21st of September. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations Resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a culture of peace. -with report from Najib Nur/BIO
