Daphne Oseña-Paez is new Palace press briefer

DAVAO CITY — Lifestyle host and reporter Daphne Oseña-Paez has been named Tuesday as the new Malacañang press briefer.

“Siya ang magiging tagapaghatid ng balita at impormasyon tungkol sa mga gawain at proyekto ni Pangulong Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.,” Office of the Press Secretary officer-in-charge and Undersecretary Atty. Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil said in a press briefing.

“Isang karangalan na makasama namin sa Office of the Press Secretary ang isa sa mga lumalaban para sa karapatan ng mga kababaihan, kabataan at ng kalikasan,” Garafil added.

In the same briefing, Oseña-Paez said she is looking forward “to working with all of you (Malacañang Press Corps), of course, in a harmonious and collegial manner” as she would regularly be the source of updates from the Palace.

“I’m very honored to be communicating the message and programs of this administration, of course, in an accurate and effective way and I will do my best,” she said.

Oseña-Paez will not serve as spokesperson but is tasked to “amplify and communicate the message” of President Marcos, the Cabinet, and the government.

“The President will speak for himself. I’m just here to support the Office of the Press Secretary for now, and I look forward to learning a lot about the programs,” she said.

Oseña-Paez was appointed as United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) National Goodwill Ambassador in 2019.

She is a graduate of Fine Arts History from the University of Toronto in Canada and is currently enrolled in the Advanced Certificate for Environmental Management.
