TF-Davao arrests bus passenger over bomb joke

DAVAO CITY — The bus driver jumped from the window while other passengers scamper for safety as a passenger threw a joke that a bomb was inside the bus while they were en route to Davao City Monday morning, Decemmber 26,.

The jampacked Mindanao Star bus was entering Davao City but upon reaching Barangay Binugao in Toril District, a passenger who was wearing a light green shorts and blue tshirt went to the middle of the bus and shouted that he was carrying a bomb.

Members of Task Force Davao stationed at nearby Sirawan checkpoint immediately responded and arrested the passenger whom many suspect to have been hallucinating.

Army Captain Ronnel Avanzado, chief of TD-Davao Sirawan said “Concerned citizens from Binugao tipped off that bus passngers who disembarked from the bus asked their help about the “suspected bomb”.

Presidential Decreee 1727 states that it is “unlawful the malicious dissemination of false information of the willful making of any threat concerning bombs, explosives or any similar device or means of destruction.”

The arrested passenger was identified by the police as Pslam, 22 years old, He is now detained at Toril Police Precinct while the case against him is being prepared.-Eugene Hinutan
