Power interruptions on May 12, 14, and 15 in Davao City and Davao del Norte

DAVAO CITY — Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. will conduct a series of switching power interruptions on May 12, 14, and 15, Friday, Sunday, and Monday affecting customers in Davao City and Davao del Norte. 

The first set of power interruptions will be for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on May 12, Friday, to facilitate the transfer of loads from the affected lines to nearby substations while the normalization or return of loads back to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes, anytime between 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on the same date. These power interruptions are necessary to relocate the poles near Seventh Day Adventist at Panabo Highway to Cainglet Hospital. 

Specifically affected are customers along Panabo Wharf from Davao Light San Vicente Substation to Maryknoll College, and immediate environs.

Additionally, a 6-hour power interruption will be conducted from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on May 12, Friday, to isolate the work site for the said pole relocation activity. 

Specifically affected are customers from Maryknoll College up to Carmen, including Brgy. Sto Nino, Brgy Gamao, Gamao Subdivision, Brgy Salvacion, Aljons Subdivision, Luzviminda Ricemill, Carmen Poblacion, Brgy Lapaz, Bingcungan, Mangalcal Tuganay, Anibongan, Guadalupe, Sto. Nino Elementary School, Salvacion Elementary School, Carmen National Elementary School, Tuganay Elem School, Taba Elem School, La Paz National High School, Cabili Elementary School, Cebulano Elem School, Carmen Municipal Hall, San Isidro Brgy Hall, and immediate environs.

Meanwhile, the second set of power interruptions will be for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on May 14, Sunday, to conduct the transfer of loads to nearby substations while the normalization or return of loads back to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes, anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on May 15, Monday. 

These power interruptions are necessary to deload the NGCP Davao Substation to facilitate maintenance works.

Specifically affected are customers along Sta Ana Ave. from crossing Gempesaw St. to Holy Cross Davao, and neighboring areas; as well as those along Quezon Boulevard from Sta. Ana Police Station up to Bolton Bridge; including Don Julian Rodriguez Children’s Park, Brgy 31-D Gymnasium, Brgy 21-C Covered Court, Piapi Public Market, Mini Forest Boulevard, Salmonan Fish Market, Almendras Gymnasium, LTO, Felcris Centrale and neighboring areas; Gempesaw Street, and neighboring areas; and San Pedro Square and nearby areas.

Also affected are customers along CM Recto St. from Bonifacio Monument to RCBC, and neighboring areas; as well as those along Magallanes Street from Wisons Shopping Center to Bonifacio Monument to Magallanes Elementary School,including Grand Menseng Hotel, Bolton Extension, and neighboring areas. 

Lastly, customers along Quimpo-Boulevard Diversion Road from Bolton Bridge to Frances Inn, and neighboring areas; as well as those along Bonifacio Street from Quezon Boulevard Junction to CM Recto Intersection, and neighboring areas; along T. Monteverde St. from Leon Garcia Junction to Gempesaw intersection; including Sta Ana Pier, and neighboring areas; and those along Leon Garcia Street from Sta Ana Pier to Asian International School of Aeronautics will also be affected by these service disruptions. 

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
