3 Died, 6 Missing when Fishing Boat Capsized Off Davao Oriental Coast

DAVAO CITY —Three persons were found dead while six still missing and 14 otheres wee rescued when fishing boat FB Genesis 2 capsized midnight of June 22 off Bagangan, Davao Oriental coast.

The report of Philippine Coast Guard showed that the boat with 24 crew was sailing the rough seas due to bad weather which caused the boat to capsize.

Boat captain Allan Donaire told the personnel of the Coast Guard that crew from FB Ryan Romualdo 88, a fishing boat nearby, rescued the 14 survivors.

The cadavers of the victims and the survivors reached Barangay Calumpang in General Santos City on Sunday, June 25.

The personnel from Coast Guard District Southeastern MIndanao are still searching for the six missing passengers.

The families of the bereaved crew and the other survivors have coordinated with the management of the Ogdi Fishing Company for assistance.
