Service disruptions on August 4 and 6 in different parts of Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. will conduct three power interruptions on August 4 and 6, Friday and Sunday, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City. 

The first power interruption will be for 30 minutes anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on August 4, Friday, for the normalization or return of loads back to their normal set-up after P. Reyes Transformer #1 emergency repair works. 

Specifically affected are customers along C. Bangoy Sr. Street, from Davao Light Office to Rizal Street Junction, including Rizal Street, Rizal Extension, Pelayo Street, Inigo Street, and nearby areas.

Also affected are customers along San Pedro Street, from Lachmi to Pelayo Crossing, and nearby areas; as well as those along A. Pichon Street, from Quirino Junction to Wisons Shopping Center, and nearby areas.

Customers along Quirino Avenue, from DepEd Davao City Division Office to Bankerohan Bridge, and nearby areas; and those along General McArthur Highway, from Bankerohan Bridge to Matina Town Square, and nearby areas will also be affected by this service interruption. 

Also affected are customers along Tulip Drive, from Davao Light Ecoland Substation to Crossing Ecoland Drive, including Home Crest Hotel, SM City Davao, and nearby areas; as well as those along Ecoland Drive, from Civil Service Commission Field Office to Matina Aplaya Road, including nearby areas.

Lastly, customers along Matina Aplaya Road, from Crossing Ecoland Drive to Shanghai Inn, including nearby areas will also be affected by this service interruption.

The second power interruption will be for 1 hour anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. on August 6, Sunday, to facilitate the transfer of loads from the affected lines to nearby substations to relocate the 69kV poles near Damosa, JP Laurel Avenue as requested by DPWH. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads back to their normal set-up will be for another 1 hour, anytime between 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the same date. 

Specifically affected are customers in the portion of Buhangin from Milan going to Indangan and nearby areas; as well as those along Diversion Road from COA office up to Juana’s Kubo Panacan and nearby areas.

Also affected are customers from corner Arroyo St – J.P. Laurel Avenue up to Azuela Cove, Pampanga from Azuela Cove up to DPWH Panacan, and all nearby areas. 

Customers in R. Castillo St. from Caltex Gasoline Station near Azuela Cove up to Agdao Flyover will also be affected by these service interruptions. 

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
