TAGUM CITY, Philippines – Officials from the City Economic and Enterprises Office and the City Treasurer’s Office paid an unexpected visit to the Meat Section of Tagum City Public Market yesterday, August 2, to inspect the weighing scales used by the vendors.

During the inspection, the authorities diligently affixed stickers to scales found to be accurate and in proper working condition. However, scales with defects were confiscated.

The team plans to conduct similar inspections in other sections of the market, such as the Vegetable and Fruit Stalls, next week.

The local government aims to ensure that consumers in the city are receiving products with accurate measurements and quantities.
