DSWD distributes food packs to 989 families affected by floods and landslides in Lanao del Norte

LANAO DEL NORTE, Philippines – In response to the severe floods and landslides caused by the Southwest Monsoon that recently hit Lanao del Norte province, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided food packs to 989 affected families from the municipalities of Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lala, Kapatagan, and Sapad.

Each resident received a carton containing six kilograms of rice, canned goods, milk, and other essential items, distributed as part of the augmentation support to the local government units.

The distribution of aid was facilitated by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo praised the efforts of DSWD and emphasized the importance of extending assistance to the vulnerable sectors and individuals affected by natural calamities in the province.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the government’s initiative in providing them with much-needed support.

The distribution of food packs took place on August 1 and 2 this year.
