DAVAO ORIENTAL – The White Copra and Coconut Oil Processing Facility coincided recently broke ground.

Under the umbrella of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP)-Shared Processing Facility, the construction of the Integrated White Copra and Coconut Oil Processing Facility commenced with the goal of modernizing and enhancing the local coconut industry. The project, spearheaded by Mayor Ronald “Pepot” Lara, received participation from various governmental bodies, both national and provincial, highlighting a collaborative effort to boost production and elevate the region’s coconut processing capabilities.

Meanwhile, the 2nd Pinadapla Festival showcased a unique culinary tradition in Barangay Datal Batong.

The festival, a hallmark of the 39th Araw ng Datal Batong celebrations, featured the preparation of a distinctive lechon. In this unconventional approach, bamboo poles were employed to roast whole pigs, along with chickens, goats, and even cattle, creating a communal feast that encapsulates the community’s cultural heritage and creativity.

As the groundbreaking ceremony and the Pinadapla Festival converged on August 25th, the events underscored the unity and determination of local communities and government entities to preserve traditions while driving progress. Both celebrations embodied a shared commitment to uplift industries and elevate local culture, painting a promising picture of a vibrant and progressive future.
