Zamboanga fire victims receive assistance

DAVAO CITY — Some 240 families victimized by fire in barangay Camino Nuevo in Zamboanga City received their cash assistance from the representatives of the Department of Social Welfare and Development on Monday, Sepetember inside a mall in said city.

Mayor John dalipe joined the DSWD representatives in handing the cash assistance to the families whose houses and properties were eaten up by fire August 20.

The welfare agency handed out a total of 2.4 million pesos to the beneficiaries.

Each family received ten thousand pesos.

The cash assistance is in addition to the provided family food packs, hygiene kits, kitchens kits and other religion goods to the burnt families that they received from the national and local government.

Dalipe assured to continue assisting the affected families for their recovery process and giving them the support they need to help them stand back from what happened.

The mayor also promised that the housing division will allow the relocation of homeowners who are affected by the incident because they cannot return to their own residences.

Aics aim to lighten some of the burdens faced by the affected families and to meet their immediate needs.

Dswd hope that through the received cas assistance, it will help them restore their strength and be able to continue with them with renewed strength after the tragedy.
