LAKE SEBU – The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), an agency attached to the Department of Tourism (DOT), conducted an ocular inspection in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. This inspection is part of their efforts to develop tourism infrastructure projects and promote potential tourist destinations in the region.

TIEZA is responsible for the development of tourism infrastructure projects and the management of tourism enterprise zones. They also oversee the operation and management of TIEZA assets and the collection of the Philippine travel tax.

During the inspection, TIEZA officials, along with representatives from the local government, visited three proposed project sites in Lake Sebu. These sites include TBong, where a Convention and Productivity Center is planned, Tebowow Island, where a 2.9-kilometer cable car project is proposed, and Lot 70 Boulevard, which is earmarked for recreational development.

The tourism infrastructure projects in the region align with the tourism vision to develop tourist zones and promote potential touristic areas and activities that showcase the heritage and culture of Filipinos.

It’s worth noting that all TIEZA-funded infrastructure projects must comply with the National Tourism Development Plan or have a high touristic value identified by the Department of Tourism.

These initiatives aim to boost tourism in Lake Sebu and contribute to the development of the region’s tourism industry.
