North Cotabato village chief dies from electrocution

COTABATO – A village chief succumbed to electrocution last Saturday, October 7, despite efforts to rush him to the hospital.

The victim was identified as Leonito Cabada, 53, the village chief of Barangay Bitoka in Midsayap, North Cotabato.

Three others, all associates of Cabada, were also electrocuted and are currently recuperating in a local medical facility.

According to the investigation by the Midsayap Municipal Police Station, Cabada and his three companions were installing a solar panel when they accidentally made contact with the primary power line of the Cotabato Electric Cooperative, resulting in the electrocution.

All four victims were immediately transported to the hospital, but Chief Cabada did not survive.

The other three individuals who were electrocuted have been identified as Kieth Sibil, 21, Ainz Henner Argoncillo, 19, and a minor whose identity has not been disclosed by the police.

The three surviving victims are now in stable condition.
