13th cycle of supplementary feeding program launched in General Santos City

GENERAL SANTOS – In a significant event hosted at the Oval Gymnasium on Matalam Street in General Santos City, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) initiated the 13th cycle of the Supplementary Feeding Program on November 9.

Congressman Ton Acharon and Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao spearheaded the turnover of goods and commodities for the program during the ceremony. The local government’s contribution of 11 million pesos worth of eggs and milk for the children was also a notable part of the event.

The primary objective of the program is to address child hunger in the city.

Over the course of 120 days, the program ensures that beneficiary children receive complimentary breakfast and snacks within the confines of their classrooms.

With 234 day care centers in Gensan, the program is set to benefit over 9 thousand children in the city.
