Two foreign moneylenders killed in Central Mindanao

DAVAO CITY –— Two foreign moneylenders were killed within two days in Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat on Saturday and Sunday.

The police identified the Pakistani moneylender as Arshad Taraz Khan, who was killed on Saturday afternoon while collecting from his client in Barangay Salaman, in the municipality of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat.

According to Lt. Col. Julius Malcontento, the chief of the Lebak municipal police, they found two .45 bullets in the car that happened in the incident. Khan died instantly.

According to Malcontento, they are still investigating the case.

Yesterday, Sunday, two armed men were seen shooting an Indian identified as Jaspreet Singh.

Singh was killed while leaving the place where he was going to collect from those who owed him in Barangay Damalusay in the municipality of Datu Paglas, in the province of Maguindanao del Sur in the Bangsamoro region.

The province of Maguindanao and Maguindanao are adjacent.

In the report of the Maguindanao del Sur Provincial Police Office, submitted by the office of Bangsamoro regional police director Brig. gen. Allan Nobleza, explained that the suspects suddenly stopped Singh’s motorcycle and they shot him, causing his immediate death.

Nobleza ordered the Datu Paglas Municipal Police Station and Maguindanao del Sur PPO to work together to solve the case.
