Three social media users regret posting bomb joke

DAVAO CITY — Three of the 20 individuals from Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Norte, involved in spreading the bomb joke through social media have surrendered before the local chief executive pf Pagadian City.

This, after Pagadian City Mayor Sammy Co revealed he will criminal case against those involved based on Presidential Decree No. 1727 or The Anti-Bomb Joke law.

The two individuals were among the 20 Facebook users who spread bomb joke on Saturdaym December 9, that a bomb was placed during the Plaza Luz Christmas Lighting activity in said city.

But sensing that the mayor was serious on his pronouncemens to file charges, the three voluntarily surrendered in front of mayor Co and we promised that they would not repeat what they had done about lying about the bomb.

One of those who surrendered was identified as Jhon Paul Dalia, and teo other minors.

Dalia said “I was just commenting about the post and I didn’t mean to cause any harm, this is a lesson for me, I only learned the effects of my post when my name went viral and was informed that I will be charged in court,”

Another lady who called herself Christine in a radio interview said “I am here to say sorry to everyone who was affected by my post, I promise not to do it again. Many refused to visit Pagadian because of what I did. I realized that I need to hink forst before I click. did not know the impact of my post, I am asking the netizens to stop bashing me, I am just human being, I am not perfect, please forgive me, I was a bad call on my part.”

She revealed she was so depressed when she learned her name went viral.

The other user who is also a minor said she was scared when her name went viral on social media just because of his comment that was related to the bomb joke.

Mayor Co called on all parents to watch over and guide their children regarding social media regulation.
