Marcos Jr. Appoints  Governor Uy  as RDC XI Chair

DAVAO CITY— President  Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Davao Oriental Governor Nino Sotero Uy as the Chairperson of the Regional Development Council XI, National Economic  Development Authority (NEDA).

The President signed Uy’s appointment on December 15, 2023 but the document was released only on January 3, 2024.

Given his appointment, Uy will work hand in hand with  the NEDA, manage the technical, administrative and financial operations of the RDC XI, including being accountable for the funds and properties of the RDC.

The Apoointment.

Uy’s primary task include: coordinating the development planning and policy-making in the Davao Region.

As the law defines, the RDC as the highest policy-making body governing the administrative regions in the country, serving as the subnational counterpart of NEDA.

Uy succeeded the chair vacated by late Davao Oriental Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon.
