Korean group honors 3 PH Coast Guard for protecting the marine environment

DAVAO CITY –— Three officers of the Philippine Coast Guard received honors from Korean World Green International Award Committee (KWGIAC) on 25 January 2024.

KWGIAC Chairman, Mr. Park Kwang Young, graced the awarding ceremony at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila.

Young bestowed the Top Excellence Award to PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr, and PCG Deputy Commandant for Administration, CG Vice Admiral Allan Victor Dela Vega.

Coast Guard District in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Commander, CG Captain Christopher Auro, received the Excellence Award.

Vice Admiral Punzalan Jr. thanked the KWGIAC for acknowledging Coast Guardians who continue to selflessly perform their oath to the Filipino nation.

“This recognition does not only reflect my contributions but also represents the shared commitment of the PCG in fulfilling our duty to protect the marine environment,” CG Vice Admiral Punzalan Jr emphasized.

As a sign of appreciation, the Coast Guard Deputy Commandant for Operations presented a plaque and a certificate of appreciation to KWGIAC Chairman Park Kwang Young and World Green Award Committee Special Advisor in the Philippines, Auxiliary Rear Admiral Oscar Kyungsun Oh.
