Gatchalian present in Davao Oriental relief ops

Davao Oriental, February 4, 2024 — Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian attended the relief distribution in Davao Oriental on Sunday.

Gatchalian and Undersecretary for Disaster Response Management Group Diana Rose S. Cajipe arrived at the Mati City Airport yesterday for the simultaneous relief operations for the affected families of the shear line and trough of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) and visit to the evacuation sites in the Province of Davao Oriental. 

Gatchalian and Cajipe visited the municipalities of Caraga, Manay, and Governor Generoso and led the distribution of family food packs. 

In his message, Sec. Gatchalian vowed to deliver all requests for augmentation to the people of Davao Oriental including financial assistance.

“Pinapangako ko na lahat ng request ng Davao Oriental ay ibibigay natin kasama na ang financial assistance na pinabibilisan na din nating maipamahagi sa lahat ng apektado ng pagbaha at ulan, (? ??????? ?? ??????? ??? ??? ???????? ?? ??? ???????? ?? ????? ???????? ????????? ??? ????????? ?????????? ????? ??? ???? ????????? ?? ?? ????? ?????????? ???? ?? ??? ???????? ????????),” said Sec. Gatchalian.

The DSWD FO XI has provided 17,279 family food packs worth PHP11,497,185.00, and 106 non-food items (53 modular tents and 53 sleeping kits) worth PHP314,714.00 to the affected families in Davao Region.
