The MGB in a statement posted on their social media account stated that the activity was conducted “to coastal regions which are inherently susceptible to several hazards, including but not limited to erosion, tsunamis, storm surges, and sea level rise.”

Climate change is a problem, making these dangers more common and dangerous since it seriously jeopardizes coastal ecosystems and coastal communities. Coastal towns must recognize and control these threats to save essential infrastructure and human lives, it added.

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau XI’s Coastal Vulnerability Assessment offers important insights into the particular vulnerabilities. Informed plans and policies to reduce risks, boost resilience, and guarantee sustainable coastal development in the face of climate change consequences will be developed through the data collected. Moreover, the evaluation aids in pinpointing regions that need prompt attention and resource distribution for risk reduction initiatives.

This, was after Caraga experienced profuse damage in the series of earthquakes and heavy downpours due to inclement weather conditions brought about by shear line.
