Two more members of KJC surrender this morning, Quiboloy “might” surrender, says NBI

DAVAO CITY — Two more members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) voluntarily surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation at around 9:30a.m on Thursday.

Lawyer Archie Albao, regional director of  NBI XI told newsline “At around 9:30 this morning Ingrid Canda and Jackielyn Roy voluntarily surrendered to our office.”

This developed as Albao said given  these  fast development, Albao said “It is possible that Quiboloy will also surrender because the cases against him are bailable.”

Yesterday, three members of the KJC  namely Paulene Chavez Canada (surrendered), Sylvia Calija Cemañez (surrendered)  and Cresente Chavez Canada (arrested) put up a P80,000 bail bond  each for their temporary  liberty.

“They were released last night,” Albao told Newsline.

The surrender, Albao said, followed after Albao persuaded the lawyer to surrender the accused.

Will Quiboloy surrender?

Given the fast development, Albao said “It is possible that Quiboloy will also surrender because the cases against him are bailable.”

Asked what is the status of Quiboloy? Albao said  “Ahhh…Ongoing ang service sa warrant of arrest, we are negotiating for his surrender, based on the discussion with his lawyers–  seems willing sya mo-surrender,” Albao manifested.

“This time,  we hope he surrenders to us, but based on the pronouncement of the lawyers, they are concerned with his security,” the Director added.

NBI Albao assured “If he surrenders before us,  we can protect him.”

But aside from the cases Quiboloy is facing in Davao, he still has to face the arrest from the Congress and Senate for contempt.

The surrender and arrest of five KJC members  came after Judge Dante Baguio of Davao City Regional Trial Court (Davao RTC) Branch 12 issued warrants of arrest  on Tuesday.

They were charged for violating Section 10(a), or other acts of child abuse under Republic Act (RA) 7610, or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.”

Aside from violating Section 10(a), or other acts of child abuse under Republic Act (RA) 7610, or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, ”   Quiboloy was also ordered arrested for violation of Section 5(b) or sexual abuse also under RA 7610.

The bail for Section 10 (a) was set at P80,000 while for Section 5 (b) is set at P200,000, The bail bond for two cases is set at P280,000.
