Consumers expects power disruptions on May 19 in different parts of Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Sunday, May 19, 2024, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City. These interruptions are necessary to re-energize the Transformer 2 of ERA Substation along J.P. Laurel Avenue.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to nearby substations for 1 hour anytime between 3:00 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. Specifically affected are those from Abreeza to Carmelite Bajada and all neighboring areas, downtown area from Abreeza going to Bankerohan up to MTS including areas going to Sandawa Road including part of Bajada, Torres Street, Obrero, C Bangoy Sr. Street, Quirino Avenue and neighboring areas.

Another 30-minute switching power interruption will be conducted anytime between 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. to facilitate the transfer of loads to nearby substations. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads back to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Customers from a portion of downtown area from Nissan Display Center Bajada up to corner Acacia including Gaisano Mall Bajada, San Pedro Hospital, Guerrero Street, Mapa Street, part of N.Torres Street, Bacaca Road up to corner Diversion Road, portion of Diversion Road from Earth Grain up to corner Jade Valley, and neighboring areas will be affected by these service disruptions.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
