Sulu execs in trouble over non-filing of SALNs 

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Former Mayor Al-Razhmie Halun of Kalingalan Caluang, Sulu and Nurse II Jakaratul Halun of Luuk District Hospital, are facing multiple indictments for violating the  Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

Former Mayor Halun and  Jakaratul Halun are set to face trial for failure to file their respective Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs) while in the government service.

Case records show that Al-Razhmie failed to file his SALN for ten straight years from 2004 to 2013; while Jakaratul did not file any SALN from 2010 to 2012.

Due to preion of the offense, however, Al-Razhmie shall only be liable for six counts of violation of R.A No. 6713, for the non-filing of SALNs from 2008 to 2013.

While Jakatarul is facing three counts for the non-filing of her 2010 to 2012 SALNs.

Under R.A. No. 6713 all  public officials and employees must  declare under oath their assets, liabilities, net worth, business interest and financial connections including those of their spouse and of unmarried children under 18 years of age living in their households but the two failed to follow the law.
