Php 1 million worth of shabu seized at Davao Checkpoint

DAVAO CITY- At approximately 11:55 PM on November 16, 2024, a pick-up truck was intercepted at the joint TF-Davao Falcon Sirawan Base and Toril Police Station 8 checkpoint in Barangay Sirawan, Davao City.

The pick-up truck was heading towards the city center when a member of Cafgu approached the passenger in the front seat who was carrying a sling bag that contained a red plastic cellphone.

The passenger refused to open the sling bag, claiming it was in use, and instead tossed it onto the road before the driver sped off.

Upon inspection of the sling bag, authorities discovered suspected shabu wrapped in transparent plastic cellophane.

TF-Davao immediately notified all police units and TF-Davao about the fleeing pick-up truck, but it eluded capture.

Authorities estimated the seized shabu’s value at the checkpoint to be 1,014,000 pesos.

According to the police report, the speeding pick-up truck that entered the checkpoint area bore the license plate number LAK 2929, a gray Nissan Navara.
