DAVAO CITY —- The 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division (6ID) successfully gathered 241 bags of blood, amounting to 108,450 cc, during the simultaneous Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)-wide Blood Donation Program on December 8, 2024, held at the 6ID Gym, Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.

In an interview, 1Lt. Hannah Jade Valdez, Blood Donor Recruitment Officer of Camp Siongco Station Hospital (CSSH), highlighted the program’s importance in maintaining a steady blood supply, with the 6ID playing a key role as a major contributor.

The initiative was spearheaded by the CSSH under the leadership of Lt. Col. Jeremie Villamor, in partnership with the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) Maguindanao del Norte and the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.

Participants included officers, enlisted personnel from 6ID headquarters, units from various brigades and battalions, Operational Control (OpCon) units of Joint Task Force Central, and civilian donors.

Maj. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete, Commander of the 6th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Central, praised the participants:

“The success of this blood donation drive reflects the selflessness and dedication of our personnel, embodying the Armed Forces’ spirit of service and commitment to saving lives and fostering unity across the nation.”

The blood drive was part of the AFP’s 89th founding anniversary celebrations, themed “Dugong Alay Mo, Sandigan ng Buhay Ko”, underscoring unity, service, and strength as core values in the AFP’s mission to safeguard the nation’s security and well-being.

This initiative follows a similar effort by the 6ID last August 25, 2024, during the Philippine Army’s blood donation campaign, which yielded 910 bags of blood, equivalent to 409,500 cc.

The 6ID’s continuous contributions to nationwide health initiatives demonstrate its commitment to saving lives and fostering solidarity, further strengthening its legacy of service to the Filipino people.
