PAGALUNGAN, Maguindanao del Sur – The headquarters of the 4th Mobile Platoon, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, came under attack when two grenades were thrown at the facility on the evening of January 1, 2025. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

Police initial reports showed one grenade exploded outside the headquarters after hitting a fence, causing damage to a vehicle. The second grenade entered the camp but failed to detonate.

Authorities are investigating the incident, with police suspecting that the attack may be linked to their intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the area.

Pagalungan Mayor Salik Mamasabulod has directed a thorough investigation, particularly since eyewitness accounts suggest that the perpetrator was riding a motorcycle at the time of the attack.

This grenade attack follows another tragic incident on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2024, in Barangay Marbel, Matalam, Cotabato Province, where a grenade was hurled into a fair, killing one person and leaving the community in shock.

The police and local government are calling for heightened vigilance and urging the public to report any information that could aid in identifying and apprehending the perpetrators of these violent acts.
