CIDG executes 885 operations, arrests 964 individuals in December 2024

DAVAO CITY —The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) successfully carried out 885 operations in December 2024, resulting in the arrest of 964 individuals as part of its intensified efforts to enhance public safety and security nationwide.

These operations, aligned with the peace and security directives of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Francisco D. Marbil, led to the confiscation of firearms, ammunition, explosives, and other illegal items with an estimated value of Php 158,994,889.91.

The CIDG’s efforts targeted various criminal activities, including the apprehension of wanted persons, the suppression of loose firearms, illegal gambling, environmental violations, smuggling, counterfeiting, illegal LPG manufacturing, and counter-terrorism. The operations culminated in the filing of 94 criminal cases in court.

“I commend the dedication and hard work of our CIDG operatives and partner agencies. Their combined efforts have made a significant impact in the fight against criminality. We will continue to ensure that lawbreakers are brought to justice,” said CIDG Director P/Brig. Gen. Nicolar Torre.
