DAVAO CITY (July 1) — Team Asenso, the dominant political force in Misamis Occidental, officially secured full control of provincial and local leadership as newly elected officials took their oath of office during a ceremony at the Bayfront Arena on Sunday.
Leading the unified inauguration were Governor Henry S. Oaminal and Vice Governor Rowena Gutierrez, following their overwhelming victory in the May 2025 elections. The event marked a historic milestone, with the entire provincial slate—from congressional representatives to municipal officials and barangay councilors—elected under a single political banner.
“For the first time in our province’s history,” Governor Oaminal declared in his inaugural speech, “we now have a complete lineup of leaders elected under one united platform. This is not just a political triumph—it is a clear vote of confidence from the people for our governance.”
Also sworn in were First District Representative Jason P. Almonte and Second District Representative Sancho Fernando “Ando” Oaminal, reaffirming their legislative leadership. Atty. Henry “Indy” Oaminal, the first nominee of the Asenso Pinoy Partylist, also took his oath as a newly seated member of the House of Representatives, solidifying Team Asenso’s growing influence in national politics.
Newly elected members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Provincial Board) from both districts, along with city and municipal mayors, vice mayors, and councilors, participated in the mass oath-taking ceremony—signaling the beginning of a synchronized governance agenda for the entire province.
The event showcased Team Asenso’s commanding public support and the electorate’s trust in their programs focused on peace, infrastructure development, poverty alleviation, and inclusive growth.
As the new term begins, the officials vowed to continue pushing forward with their reform-driven agenda, prioritizing transparency, accountability, and the long-term progress of Misamis Occidental.
