DAVAO CITY (July 3) — The City Government of Panabo in Davao del Norte reinforces its commitment to a drug-free workplace and transparent public service, the City Government of Panabo has launched a random drug testing initiative among its employees.
The first batch of the surprise testing was conducted at the Panabo City Hall lobby, targeting personnel from the City Engineering Office (CEO), City Budget Office (CBO), and the Traffic Management and Development Section (TMDS). The activity was spearheaded by the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
City Mayor Jose E. Relampagos, who recently took his oath for his third and final term, emphasized the importance of keeping the city government free from illegal drugs, a key point in his renewed governance agenda. “We are setting the standard for integrity in public service. It begins with ensuring that those who serve the people are clean, accountable, and committed to lawful conduct,” Mayor Relampagos earlier stated.
Officials from CADAC noted that similar tests will be rolled out across other departments in the coming weeks as part of the city’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
The program is aligned with national anti-drug policies and underscores Panabo City’s proactive stance in promoting public trust, safety, and efficiency in local governance.
