
DAVAO CITY (September 11) – Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) announced scheduled switching power interruptions on September 13, 14, and 15 to facilitate substation works and line maintenance in various parts of Davao City.
The first set of interruptions will support civil works at the Pampanga Substation. Power transfer will cause a 45-minute outage anytime between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13. Normalization, or the return of loads to their regular setup, will take place for another 45 minutes in the same timeframe on Monday, September 15. Areas affected include Pampanga, portions of Lanang (Azuela Cove to DPWH Panacan), Sasa, and nearby communities.
The second set will involve substation works at Calinan Substation and line upgrades from Lacson to Gumalang. Power transfer will cause 45-minute interruptions between 2:00 a.m.–3:00 a.m. and again between 6:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 14. Affected customers include those along the Davao-Buda National Highway, covering Barangays Lacson, Gumalang, Suawan, and Marilog, as well as portions of Calinan, Baguio, Cadalian, and surrounding areas.
In addition, an eight-hour service disruption is scheduled on Sunday, September 14, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., affecting customers in Barangays Lacson, Gumalang, Suawan, and Marilog. Normalization is expected between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. the same day.
Davao Light apologized for the inconvenience and assured customers that efforts will be made to restore service on time or earlier. The utility also reminded the public to observe safety precautions near repair and maintenance activity sites and to heed warning signs.
