COTABATO CITY (September 30)  – On Monday, as part of its corporate social responsibility, the Cotabato Light and Power Company (Cotabato Light) and the Aboitiz Foundation Inc. distributed food to families devastated by floods in Maguindanao del Norte.

According to Doreen Alve Almirante, supervisor of the Cotabato Light Marketing and Communications Office, 150 sacks of rice were presented to the Office of Rep. Bai Dimple Mastura, who represents Maguindanao del Norte’s lone district.

Almirante stated that it aimed to provide urgent support to affected homes in the district of Maguindanao del Norte. Floods struck Datu Odin Sinsuat, Kabuntalan, Northern Kabuntalan, Datu Blah Sinsuat, Sultan Kudarat, and Sultan Mastura in Maguindanao del Norte, affecting an estimated 200 families or 1,000 individuals.

According to Valentin Saludes III, president and chief operating officer of Cotabato Light, the project represents its commitment to aiding local communities during disasters and ensuring that affected families have access to essential necessities.

“Through this assistance, we hope to provide immediate relief and support to help them recover,” he stated.

He noted that the donation demonstrates the companies’ proactive efforts to help communities in need, particularly amid natural disasters.

“We support all those affected in their recovery. We will stand together to make our community safer and stronger,” Saludes underscored.
