Davao Region Posts 96.4% Employment Rate in July

DAVAO CITY  (November 22) – The Davao Region recorded a 96.4% employment rate in July, higher than the national figure of 94.7% but slightly below the 96.9% registered in the same month last year, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) 11.

The region had 2.29 million employed individuals in July 2025. However, underemployment rose to 10.5%, up from 3.9% in April and 3.7% in July 2024. About 241,000 workers expressed the need for more work hours or an additional job.

Labor force participation also dipped to 61%, lower than July 2024’s 62.5% and April 2025’s 63.6%, with 2.38 million Dabawenyos aged 15 and above counted in the labor force.
