CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (February 27) — Four major industries in Northern Mindanao were recognized for maintaining full compliance with environmental regulations, with none receiving a single notice of violation, the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) 10 announced Wednesday.

EMB-10 Director Reynaldo Digamo Jr. said the awardees include Crystal Sugar Company Incorporated in Bukidnon and Axelum Resources Corporation, a coconut products manufacturer based in Medina, Misamis Oriental.

Also honored were FDC Misamis Power Corporation in Tagoloan town and food manufacturer Pilmico in Iligan City.

“These companies have never received a notice of violation from the bureau,” Digamo said, underscoring their consistent adherence to environmental standards.

The recognition ceremony coincided with the Mindanao Conference for Pollution Control Officers, held Tuesday in this city and attended by 180 participants from private and government sectors across Mindanao.

The conference was organized by Guardians of the Earth Association Incorporated in partnership with EMB-10, carrying the theme: “One Environment, One Goal: Strengthening Synergy through Knowledge, Compliance, and Collective Action.”

Environmental officials said the awards aim to encourage industries to view compliance not as a regulatory burden, but as a shared responsibility in protecting Northern Mindanao’s natural resources.
