PATIKUL, Sulu  (October 23)  — In a historic milestone for Mindanao’s legal landscape, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo officially unveiled the newly constructed Sulu Hall of Justice in Barangay Bangkal, Patikul.

For decades, geographic isolation and inadequate infrastructure delayed legal proceedings for island residents. Today, this modern judicial hub stands as a permanent structural safeguard—closing the chapter on delayed court cases and anchoring the province’s transition into long-term peace.

“The completion of this modern judiciary hub directly complements the province’s historic transition into a state of stable internal peace and security,” said Sulu Vice Governor Abdusakur Tan, emphasizing that the facility eliminates long-standing barriers to swift legal recourse.

Beyond the Courtroom: A Seamless Provincial Transition

The October 20 inauguration served as more than a judicial event—it provided a venue for national and local leaders to coordinate broader peace and development strategies across Sulu’s 19 municipalities.

As the province navigates structural administrative shifts, President Marcos reassured local constituents that national support remains steadfast across all vital sectors:

  • Continuous Healthcare: Uninterrupted delivery of medical services and community health programs.
  • Educational Stability: Absorption of local teachers into the regional administrative structure alongside new plantilla positions.
  • Institutional Integrity: Ensuring public institutions remain accountable, accessible, and grounded in the rule of law.

For the people of Sulu, the new Hall of Justice is far more than a concrete building—it is a concrete promise that justice, accountability, and peace are here to stay.
