Jollibee ordered to regularize over 6T workers

THE Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) National Capital Region (NCR) ordered Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) to regularize more than 6,000 workers and refund the illegally collected payments amounting to P19.5 million.

In a statement, Dole NCR Director Henry John Jalbuena said inspections of the popular food chains will continue under the government’s relentless campaign to stop illegal work contractualization.

JFC is to regularize 6,482 workers deployed by its two contractors, while another food chain, Burger King was to regularized 704 of its workers.

Jollibee was also ordered to refund P15,432,305.00 for Coop Share, Coop Christmas Party Paluwagan Fund, and Coop Savings Fund, which was illegally collected from 426 employees.

Five of its contractors were ordered to refund P4,137,158.15 to 412 affected workers from unlawful wage deductions, bonds, donations, shares and other illegal payment collections.
