PDEA arrests Cagayan de Oro businessman

DAVAO CITY, Philippines —- Agents of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) X,  Wednesday, April 24, arrested a drug personality in Cagayan de Oro City.

Wilkins Villanueva, director of PDEA 10 identified the suspect as Rasol Sarip, of Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Judge Dennis Alcantar of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch  18, issued the search warrant against Sarip which resulted to the discovery of 9 medium sized sachet of shabu  weighing more or less 35grams, with a street value estimated at P175,000 and , one unit Glock 17 9mm pistol with two pieces  of magazine and live ammunition inn his possession.

Villanueva told Newsline.Ph “Community leaders, drug distributors and, previously arrested drug pushers identified Sarip as their source.”

“Sarip is having a good illegal drugs business front, he uses his jewelry business and  house rental business as a  cover,” he added.

The operation was in coordination with local officials of Cagayan de Oro and PNP XI personnel.

The PDEA X is preparing to file charges against Sarip for violating the Comprehensive Drugs Act of the country.-Edith Z. Caduaya/Newsline.Ph
