Aboitiz Construction signed a partnership agreement with TESDA Region X to enhance its talent pipeline in Mindanao, aiming to improve technical training programs and create increased employment opportunities for underserved communities while addressing skills gaps and promoting economic development in the region.

As part of the partnership, Aboitiz Construction will organize job fairs and engage in discussions about training-to-placement programs, ensuring that participants receive the necessary support to transition successfully into the workforce.

These initiatives are designed to bridge the gap between education and employment, providing valuable insights and resources for job seekers. By equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge needed for in-demand jobs, the program aims to empower youth and create a positive impact on the local economy.

Furthermore, Aboitiz Construction has formed partnerships with B89 Technical Vocational Academy in Bukidnon and Immaculate Conception School of Technology in Ozamis City. These collaborations will enhance training offerings and ensure that local talents receive relevant and practical education.

Since 2022, Aboitiz Construction’s corporate citizenship program, “Skills Training Towards Employment,” administered with support from Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., has successfully helped 135 individuals graduate from various technical courses, including scaffolding and welding. Notably, 80% of these graduates have secured employment within Aboitiz Construction, contributing to key projects such as the Monde Nissin project in Davao City and maintenance operations for Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation in Surigao del Norte.

“Investing in our communities is vital. We are committed to developing a skilled workforce for Mindanao by providing support and resources to ensure that underserved individuals have access to quality training and meaningful employment opportunities,” said Aboitiz Construction Sr. AVP for People and Corporate Shared Services Raizza Manuel.

This partnership with TESDA Region X and ongoing efforts in workforce development exemplify Aboitiz Construction’s mission to elevate industry standards while contributing to community growth. By investing in the future of Mindanao’s workforce, Aboitiz Construction is not only building a more skilled labor force but also supporting the economic resilience and development of the region.
