MANILA (March 15) – The northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” will continue to bring cool weather and light rains in parts of Luzon and the Visayas on Sunday, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
Cloudy skies with light rains are expected in Bicol Region, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Zamboanga Peninsula will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
Weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said temperatures may range from 10°C to 22°C in Baguio City and 18°C to 30°C in Tagaytay, Metro Manila, Laoag, and Tuguegarao.
A strong surge of the amihan earlier brought temperatures down to 7.5°C in La Trinidad, Benguet and 9°C in Baguio City.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao may experience cloudy skies with rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA also warned of strong northeast winds and rough seas in Northern Luzon and parts of Central and Southern Luzon.
