‘Ardot’ Parojinog’s death due to cardiac arrest or Covid-19

September 5, 2020 by Neptalie Batolenio

OZAMIZ  CITY –— Authorities here eye Cardio Pulmonary arrest secondary to cardio vascular disease or probable COVID-19 as the cause behind the death   of  former Misamis Occidental second district board member Ricardo  “Ardot” Parojinog Jr.   on Friday morning, September 4.

Parojinog was found dead at about 6 o’clock in the morning inside the Ozamiz Police station. His cadaver showed no signs of contusion nor wound.

During the media interview  Ozamiz City Police Chief PMaj. Ryan Revillas, showed reporters the initial findings of  Dr. Maria Florelyn Yrog-yrog, the city’s medico-legal stating Parojinog could have died due to cardiac arrest or COVID-19.

A swab test was conducted to validate the claim.

A picture furnished to Newsline.ph showed Parojinog lying on a bed with half of his orange t-shirt party up to his chest.

Sevilla said the former board member arrived in Ozamiz morning of September 3 from  Camp Crame Custodial Center in Manila via Cebu Pacific flight.

The court allowed Parojinog’s travel from Manila to Ozamiz to attend the arraignment of his cases at the Regional Trial Court Branch 15, on Friday, September 4,  but prior to his court appearance, he was found dead.

Parojinog is facing charges for violation of  RA 10591 and RA 9516, or illegal possession of firearms and explosives at Regional Trial Court Branch 15 in Ozamiz City.

He was alone in his detention cell since the PNP transferred other detainees to Clarin town citing that Parojinog is a high-risk detainee.

The body of Ardot was taken from the detention cell at about 2:00 in the afternoon, immediately thereafter, health authorities disinfect the whole building of the Ozamiz PNP.

Ardot Parojinog is the brother of the late  Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., who was killed in a bloody encounter with police authorities dawn of July 30, 2017, along with 15 other casualties.

President Rodrigo Duterte named Ardot and his brother Reynaldo as among the narco-politicians in the country.-Neptalie Batolenio/Newsline.ph
