DAVAO CITY (May 23) — The Asenso Pinoy Party-list, rooted in Misamis Occidental, has secured a seat in the House of Representatives following the May 12, 2025, midterm elections. Atty. Henry “Indy” F. Oaminal Jr., the first nominee and current Mayor of Ozamiz City, will represent the party in Congress.

The party’s victory is a comprehensive electoral success for the Oaminal-led Team Asenso, which achieved a historic sweep in Misamis Occidental. The team won all prominent positions, including the governorship, vice governorship, both congressional seats, 14 municipal mayoralties, three city mayoralties, and a significant majority in the provincial board.

Governor Henry S. Oaminal attributed this unprecedented success to the public’s trust in Team Asenso’s leadership and its commitment to the “5Ms” development framework: Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon (Misamisnons Living Peacefully, Prosperously, and Happily).

The Asenso Pinoy Party-list aims to extend this development agenda nationally, focusing on economic empowerment, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and social services. Notable projects under this initiative include the Asenso Misamis Occidental Medical Center in Oroquieta City and the Asenso Misamis Occidental Resort and Aquamarine Park in Sinacaban.

Atty. Oaminal Jr. emphasized the party’s commitment to inclusive growth: “Our goal is to bring the successes we’ve achieved in Misamis Occidental to the national stage, ensuring that every Filipino benefits from equitable development.”

With this congressional seat, Asenso Pinoy is poised to advocate for policies that reflect the needs and aspirations of communities, particularly those in rural and underserved areas.
