At Army’s raptor battalion: Yecla Out, Angcao In

DAVAO CITY — Brigadier General Consolito Yecla, the brigade commander of 1003rd  Brigade of the Philippine Army here is moving out for a higher post, Colonel Marion Angcao is filling up the position as acting commander.

Yecla officially stepped down on Saturday, March 4, in a turn-over ceremony at Camp Don Mariano Marcos, in Baguio District.

Yecla will assume as the deputy commander of the Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) of the Philippne Army in Camp Panacan.

Under the command of General Yecla, the brigade was the first unit of the Philippine Army which was declared insurgency-free by the Philippine Government.

“Our unit beat the deadline of then President Rodrigo Duterte, we were the first in the entire country to clear our area of responsibility from the threat, presence and control of the terrorists group, it was bloodless,” Yecla told Newsline.
