Basilan ALS learners underwent Basic Life Support training

LAMITAN City, Basilan— Students from the Alternative Learning School in Isabela, Basilan province attended the orientation about Basic Life Support training which was held in Isabela City in the province of Basilan, last December 12.

The students who participated in the program were taught basic life support orientation and training to prepare them for any eventuality in their respective communities.

Personnel from Isabela City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office spearheaded the orientation activity and exercises which was held at the West Terminal Multipurpose Hall in Isabela City,Basilan.

The activity was aimed at providing the youth the skills needed in any given emergency.

According to Mar Allen Orbecido, a CDRRMO personnel, “The youths are seen everywhere. Incidents often happen unpredictably, and it is necessary for them to learn, so that if there is an incident, they can respond quickly.”

The fund for the activity was taken from the coffers of the city government of Basilan in cooperation with the Department of Education and ALS officials.-Sherrie Mae Gonzales.
