DAVAO CITY – Bishop Rodolfo Cubos, founder of Christ the Healer International Missions Movement and the Love Philippines Movement, has expressed his desire to run for mayor of Davao City.

On the night of September 28, 2024, supporters held a prayer rally urging him to enter the race.

Although he has not yet made a final decision, the filing period for the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for the 2025 midterm elections begins on October 1 and lasts until October 8, 2024.

In a message to his supporters, Bishop Cubos thanked them for their trust and love.

In a video posted on social media, he said, “It is a great honor, and I appreciate it very much. I can’t refuse your request for a new chapter, as I have long desired changes that uphold righteousness. Your voices convey a clear message for a new beginning for our city. I promise to give this serious consideration and seek guidance from the Lord.” He also indicated that if he chooses to run, he will do so within the appropriate timeframe.

Should he enter the race, he outlined his vision, which includes:

  • Free hospitalization for all
  • Free quality education
  • Employment opportunities for development
  • Peace and order
  • Eradication of hunger through genuine service

Bishop Cubos stressed the importance of God’s guidance and community support, noting that this decision is challenging for him and his family. “This is the time for a new Davao—a Davao full of hope, development, and justice. This vision is not just a wish; it is something we can achieve together.”

Earlier that evening, the sky was painted in shades of purple, providing an inspiring backdrop for the rally.

In related activities, Bishop Cubos conducted a Love Philippines Movement (LPM) Focus Community Engagement in Brgy. Wangan, Calinan District, Davao City, on June 19, 2024. With 27,000 social media followers, he actively participates in community support initiatives, including distributing food packs, offering free blood pressure check-ups, and providing snacks and slippers to 300 beneficiaries.

To strengthen partnerships, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between LPM and Brgy. Wangan, with Brgy. Captain Hon. Danilo M. Ababon in attendance. Regardless of the weather, LPM remains committed to community service, proudly declaring itself an official partner in leading the generation towards national transformation.
