Davao City and Mindanao serve as the second home for thousands of Boholanos, having a direct flight to Bohol will mean easy homecoming for them.
Mindanao’ans going t Bohol used to fly via Cebu and board a fast craft in going to Bohol which takes a day to arrive in their destination.
“Lami na jud kaayo mag sige ug uli kay naa na jud eroplano gina Davao paingon sa Bohol, dili na kapoy magbiahe, Salamat sa Ginooo naa na jud (It is really convenient to go home nnow since there is an airplane flying to Bohol, Thank God)”, a Boholano said upon learning the opening of Davao-Bohol-Davao flights.
No less that Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr. and Bohol Governor Edgar Chatto welcomed the passengers of the inaugural flight.
The PAL opened the four times a week flight for Davao-Tagbilaran-Davao route with an 86-seater Q4 Newgen Bombardier aircraft.
The flights are scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Chatto said the new routes signify a new milestone in Bohol air travel as locals have long clamored for a direct flight to Davao.
Tagbilaran Mayor John Geesnell Yap and some PAL and government officials also witnessed the arrival of the inaugural flight from Davao.
