DAVAO CITY — Armed Forces Chief of Staff Brig. Gen Romeo Brawner lauded the efforts of the men and women of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division for its extraordinary mission accomplishments, including its Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) Operations in Southeastern Mindanao.
During his visit to Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr. in Mawab, Davao De Oro, ton February 3, 2024, the Chief was briefed by Colonel Arvin M Tenorio, 10ID Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, on the successful endeavor of the Division in maintaining the insurgency-free status of Davao Region after it was dismantled for over a year now.
The Agila division conducted 345 HADR activities, assisting almost 130,000 individuals. The briefer awed Brawner.
Brawner commended the Agila troopers under the leadership of Major General Allan D. Hambala, the Division Commander, for their bravery and commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region and its commitment to ensuring the safety of the people and for supporting the development effort of the local government units under their area of command.
“Sa 10ID, we have been the model. Modelo tayo sa kampanya against the Red Area o yung mga armadong grupo ng CPP-NPA-NDF (Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army – National Democratic Front). In fact, ito yung unang area kung saan natin nadeklara na talagang tapos na, insurgency-free yung buong region – Davao Region, and that’s because of your effort,” Brawner told the troop.
In his talk to troops, General Brawner underscored the significance of professionalism in the armed forces, emphasizing that soldiers should remain committed to their duty and carry the motto of “One AFP, One Philippines.”
Unite and collaboration among the different branches of the military to address national concerns effectively is very crucial, Brawner emphasized as he is hoping that the Agila Division will continue their good works.
“Ituloy lang natin yung pagiging professional natin at ang pagiging isang Armed Forces of the Philippines,” he added.
