Bukidnon mayor arrested for alleged rape charges

DAVAO CITY —– Authorities have arrested Pangantucan Mayor Miguel Silva in connection with two rape cases filed against him by a minor.

Members of the Bukidnon Provincial Police Command apprehended Silva on February 2, 2025, in Compostela, Davao de Oro, where he had allegedly been hiding.

Silva, a resident of Everlasting Village, Pangantucan, Bukidnon, currently serves as municipal mayor and is a candidate for governor in the upcoming elections.

The mayor is now in police custody as legal proceedings move forward. Authorities have yet to release further details regarding his arrest and the charges he is facing.
