Butane peddler arrested

DAVAO CITY — Operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested on Monday, March 15, arrested a peddler of liquified petroleum gas through a butane canister.

Police Major Milgrace Driz, CIDG Davao field unit chief, identified the suspect as Joseph Valderama.

Valderama was arrested when the CIDG implemented the Oplan Ligas at 9:40 in the morning in Veterans Village 1, Malagamot, Panacan, Davao City.

Confiscated from the suspect were 336 canisters of LPG refilled butante, two LPG tank used for refill.

Valderama will be charged for violating Presidential Decree 1865 or the illegal trade of petroleum products.

Section 3 of said law states “Refilling of LPG cylinders for purposes of sale or distribution for business or profit must have prior registration license from the Bureau.

The suspect is now inside the CIDG facility pending formal filing of the case before the court.-Newsline.ph
