CDO Mayor leads groundbreaking of 45 classrooms, HS building

Cagayan de Oro City (July 11)-   Cagayan de Oro Mayor Oscar “Oca” Moreno led the groundbreaking ceremony and time capsule laying of a four storey building and 45 classrooms at PN. Roa National Highschool, Calaanan, Brgy Canitoan here.

The 63 million pesos worth of project will serve as a new secondary home of Senior students in PN.Roa National High School. The project’s budget was taken from the Special Education Fund (SEF) . This is considered to be the largest high school campus outside the city proper.

The construction will also include ramps for differently-abled students to have an easy access. Comfort rooms were also installed on each classroom for the benefit of the students, not to be disturbed during their class.

“We are addressing a need, that is actually not a subject to compromise, not subject to negotiation, and not even negotiable. Something that cannot wait, and we must feel that education is important,” Moreno said.

He also emphasized the importance of special education and has allocated the first floor of the building for the SPED students. “The first floor of one of the wings must be utilize by the SPED students, because I know that this students’ needs special attention,” Moreno said. He also added that the government also plans to establish a City Technical Vocational Institute (TVI), directly registered with TESDA.-Hensell  Prince Habaya/NewsLine.ph
