CENRO cleans clogged canals in Panabo City

DAVAO CITY — Due to the onslaught of heavy rains, flooding worsened as a result of the clogging of garbage in canals in many parts of Panabo City.

On September 20, 2021, the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) conducted a cleanup of the canals where they recovered a large amounts of garbage such as plastic bottles, cellophane, among others.  

They urged the residents to enhance their knowledge by properly disposing of garbage that causes flooding and even possible spread of diseases.

Senior Environmental Management Specialist Norollah Pelayo said that people should properly manage their garbage. He added that the activities conducted by their office can provide guidance for the people on how to be disciplined.

The activity aimed to maintain cleanliness anywhere in the area. This is in accordance with the instruction of City Mayor Jose E. Relampagos for the overall order in the city.
