China coronavirus prompts temporary closure of Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park

DAVAO CITY —- Two of Hongkong’s major tourists destination have declared temporary closure as quick response to the China coronavirus which have claimed lives.

The Hongkong Disneyland Resort and Ocean Park announced their temporary closure which takes effect today, Sunday, January 26, as reported by the China Morning Post.

The resorts in a statement stressed “As a precautionary measure in line with prevention efforts taking place across Hong Kong, we are temporarily closing Hong Kong Disneyland park from today out of consideration for the health and safety of our guests and cast members.”

The Shanghai government said on Friday that Shanghai Disneyland will be closed from Saturday.

China is on a seven-day Lunar New Year holiday that started on Friday.

Given the long holidays, the amusement parks would be usually packed with tourists.
